WhyOne opponent changes everything - there is no field left to dominate you, so a king plays above the bulk of what he holds and the button hands you last action on every post-flop street. Judged against the average heads-up hand, K-2 is well above water; folding it is the kind of tightness a good opponent will run over.
What happensYou raise and take the betting lead into the flop, last to act the rest of the way. The instinct to build: heads-up you open far more than your full-ring reflex wants to.
K-2 is an easy open heads-up: a king already beats most of one random hand, and acting last every street compounds the edge. Folding this is leaving equity you're entitled to on the table.
With one opponent, there is nothing left to run into, so raw high-card strength and last position outweigh the connectedness you'd want at a full table.
