WhyOnly two players sit behind you, and both are forced to post - so most of the time everyone folds and you win the blinds and antes outright. That fold equity, stacked on top of the dead money already in the middle, makes K-8 offsuit a profitable jam here even though it's trash from early position. The seat widens the range, not the cards.
What happensThe big blind calls with A-4, the ace holds, and you're out. Still the right shove: at M 4 on the button the fold equity and dead money make K-8o print, and running into a bigger ace is the cost of a correct wide jam, not a reason to fold it.
Late position is what makes marginal Red-zone jams profitable, because the blinds fold so often. Widen on the button without apology - the occasional call-and-loss is already baked into why the play wins.

In push-or-fold, position stretches your shoving range - the button jams a far wider set of hands than early seats, because fewer players can wake up behind you.
